Coursera is an online learning platform that offers courses, professional certificates, specializations and accredited degree programs created with universities and companies such as Stanford, Google, IBM and Microsoft. It serves individual learners building career skills, employers training teams through a business offering, and schools and governments that offer courses to students and citizens.
Content is grouped by subject, including artificial intelligence, data science, business and healthcare, and ranges from single courses to multi-course specializations and full online degrees in areas such as computer science and data analytics. Job-aligned Professional Certificates built with partners such as Google and IBM sit alongside the degree tracks, and many courses let learners preview the first modules before enrolling. Coursera states that around nine in ten learners who complete a course report a positive career outcome, such as a new job or improved performance at work.
Course previews are free, and a Coursera Plus subscription unlocks unlimited access to most courses, certificates and specializations after a seven-day free trial, billed annually. Coursera for Teams charges a fixed per-user rate aimed at small businesses, Coursera for Enterprise pricing is arranged directly with the company for larger organizations, and individual degrees and certificates can also be purchased on their own outside the subscription.
