Privacy

MakerVote works without accounts, so we keep very little about you. This page lists everything.

What we store

• A visitor cookie (kg): a random, signed identifier set on your first visit. It lets us count one vote per visitor per product. It contains no personal data and lives for one year.
• Votes and clicks: for each vote or outbound click we store the product, the time and a salted hash of your IP address. The hash cannot be turned back into the address; it is used only to cap bursts from a single network.
• Submissions: the URL you submit and the metadata we fetch from that site (title, description, icon).
• Optional sign-in: if you sign in with GitHub, Google or X, we store the name, email and avatar those services provide, and a session cookie.

Bot protection

Voting and submitting run an invisible Cloudflare Turnstile check. Cloudflare may process your IP address and browser signals to decide whether you are a bot; see Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

What we do not do

No advertising trackers, no selling of data, no cross-site profiling. Outbound links go through a redirect on this site only to count the click; we send no referrer to the destination.

Requests

To have a product or your data removed, email the address in the footer. We answer within a few days.
