Brilliant is an online learning platform built around interactive lessons in math, science, computer science, programming and data analysis. It is aimed at students from around the fifth grade through college and beyond, as well as adult learners who want to build STEM skills a little at a time, in daily sessions of about fifteen minutes.
Rather than watching video lectures, learners work through short interactive problems and visualizations, manipulating diagrams, predicting outcomes and solving puzzles before an explanation is revealed, an approach the platform describes as learning by doing. A typical course is built from twenty to forty of these lessons grouped around a single topic, covering material from basic fractions and algebra up through calculus, circuits, quantum computing, Python and algorithmic thinking, and probability through regression.
New users can try Brilliant free for seven days before deciding on a Premium subscription, which is also available as a discounted annual plan, a lifetime purchase, or a family plan priced per person for small groups. Educators can apply for free classroom access to assign lessons and courses to their students.
