MyFitnessPal is a nutrition-tracking app used to log food, monitor eating habits and work toward goals such as weight loss, muscle gain or general wellness. It draws on a food database of more than 20 million items and is used by a large base of members tracking meals, macronutrients and other health data day to day.
Meals can be logged by searching the database, scanning a barcode, taking a photo for automatic recognition through Meal Scan, or logging by voice. Beyond calories, the app tracks macronutrients, micronutrients, water intake, weight, exercise, steps, intermittent fasting and GLP-1 medication progress, and it connects with more than 40 fitness apps and devices, including Apple Health, Garmin and Samsung Health. An AI Nutrition Coach gives personalized guidance based on a member's diary and goals, and a built-in calculator estimates calorie needs using the Mifflin-St Jeor formula.
The core app is free to use, covering food logging, macro and micronutrient data, and weight, exercise and water tracking. A Premium subscription, available through a seven-day free trial for first-time users, adds barcode scanning, an intermittent fasting tracker and custom macro goals, and renews automatically on a monthly or annual basis unless canceled.
