Canva is a browser-based design tool for creating graphics, documents, videos and presentations from a library of templates. It is aimed at people without a design background as much as professional designers, covering use cases from social media posts and presentations to marketing materials and brand assets for small businesses and larger teams.
Users start from a blank canvas or one of a large library of templates, then arrange text, images and elements with a drag-and-drop editor. A set of built-in AI tools, including Magic Design, Magic Write and Magic Media, can generate layout suggestions, draft copy or produce images from a text description, and a Brand Kit stores a team's logos, colors and fonts so they carry across new designs automatically.
A free plan covers the core editor, a large template library and a limited monthly allowance of AI credits. A paid Pro plan, billed monthly or at a lower annual rate, expands the template library, raises storage and AI-credit limits, and removes background-removal limits, while a Teams plan adds shared folders, approval workflows and admin controls for organizations with multiple users.
